IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

New Enrollment to be suspended for Take Care Arkansas
Application submission deadline is Friday, March 1 at 5:00 p.m.

The United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has informed Take Care Arkansas, also known as the Preexisting Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP), that the federally based temporary insurance program is suspending enrollment. Per HHS directive, the last business day that Take Care Arkansas may accept applications is Friday, March 1, 2013.

After this time, HHS will only permit someone to enroll in Take Care Arkansas if they already are covered under PCIP in another state and are moving to Arkansas.

Existing Coverage Continues
This announcement does not impact persons currently enrolled in Take Care Arkansas. We will continue to cover existing enrollees and qualifying individuals whose applications were received on or before Friday, March 1, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. and who were accepted into the program. Take Care Arkansas coverage is scheduled to last through December 31, 2013, subject to availability of federal funds.
